Welcome to our family business. Situated in Alvington on the main A48, near the Forest of Dean. Within a short drive of Bristol, Gloucester and Cheltenham, and not too far from Cardiff, Situated on the edge of the Forest of Dean, close to the River Severn and River Wye. Close to the historic town of Chepstow with its racecourse, golf resort, exciting nightlife and famous castle at the foot of the Wye Valley.

7- 9 pm, and lunchtime 1230 -2.30 pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday, when we served with good selection of beers wines and real ales.
Dogs are allowed in the public house provided they are kept under control on a lead.

We offer 10% discount for campers taking meals and drinks together, when you stay at the Blacksmiths arms campsite.
A free house, fine wines and real ales, nice atmosphere and good food, pool and darts facilities, large outdoor area children's play area at rear adjacent to the large car park. We have accommodation available from £40 per night for a twin room. We also have a barn conversion which sleeps 4 available as a holiday let.
Close to the river Severn and beautiful Wye valley and full of historical woodland ideal location for cycling, walking, rambling, canoeing, photography, watching wild birds and animals fishing, the forest of dean has it all , why not come and have a short break here.
Tintern Abbey, Hopewell Colliery , Clearwell caves, Dean Forest railway, Historic Chepstow Castle, Forest Visitor Centre Beechenhurst, Ross on Wye, Symons Yat, Puzzlewood, Lydney Docks and many more places of interest within easy reach.
We have a small campsite, where you can camp at reasonable prices, toilets and showers are available on site, and there are a limited number of electricity hook ups. Dogs are allowed on site provided they are kept on a lead and their “pooh” removed.
Within easy reach there is Golf, Caving, Canoeing, Sailing, rope climbing, abseiling, biking, rambling, hiking, steam railways, riding, fishing, visiting a coal mine, puzzlewood maze, racing at Chepstow Racecourse. There is an outdoor activity centre with lots of activities at Chepstow close to the UK National Diving centre which is minutes away by road.
Fresh local produce a good set menu and a wealth of specials on our boards updated daily, and a range of vegetarian meals available.

In addition to special events at Easter, Mothers day or Christmas we have some special events in nearby locations e.g. forest bluebells in May or Lydney Park estate in May to see the rhododendrons or special events held at nearby Taurus Crafts.
